Magazine - Key Terminology

Headline - heading at the top of a magazine
Call to Action - a piece of content intended to induce a viewer, reader, or listener to perform a specific act, typically taking the form of an instruction or directive
Mode of Address - how a piece communicates with the audience (direct/ indirect)
Typography - the text styles used e.g. font, colour, size
Cover lines - a simplified heading of what will be found inside the magazine
Feature - the main story/focus of the magazine
House Style - a company's preferred/ recognisable manner of presentation/ layout style.
Masthead - title/ logo of the magazine company
Anchorage text - small description of an image that allows for understanding of the headline/ feature
Strap-line/ Tagline - magazine company slogan/ catchphrase
