What was the most vital part of the production process in the success of Disney's Jungle Book (1967)?
The Scripting process was very vital to its success. Walt Disney believed the first version of the script, created by Bill Peet, was too dark for family audiences and made the significant decision to become more involved and changed his production team. This led to the creation of a more lighthearted, fun script and plot, that followed the novel by Kipling only lightly. The story line was now more clearer and believed to be easier for the younger, targeted audience to follow and enjoy.
